Most of the protesters still in the Square although an attempt was made to march of in the direction of Westminster Bridge.

The protesters who marched towards Westminster bridge were pursued on foot by police and were stopped outside Portcullis House.Police vans turned up quickly and a police helicopter is overhead. There were a number of arrests outside Portcullis House and cops were reportedly being heavy handed.

A group of police moved away back towards parliament and were followed by protesters. The protest is now right outside parliament on the parliament square side.

Correction....male arrested.

08.10.2007 17:01

It was a male arrested by the Police in Parliament Square dragged across the square towards Westminster bridge presuming to take him to the cop shop behind the new Parliament MP's Office. In the end he was taken by Police Van due to the protest from supporters. I already posted a article which should hopefully be publish shorted by indymedia.
