More Met cops get stun guns
The Met is preparing to allow previously unarmed officers to use electric stun guns. Up to 70 Tasers will be made available to members of the force's territorial support group. The move is part of a trial taking place in 10 police forces across England and Wales. Tasers, which incapacitate victims with a 50,000-volt charge, will be made available to non-firearms officers for the first time.
