Picnic to debate the issues of the day

Hi Everyone

Just to confirm the Sunday People in Common Picnic is back - 1pm this Sunday 30th September and every last Sunday in the month from thereon.

Suggested agenda for this Sunday: discussion of SOCPA, a People in Common statement about the Burma Protests, EDM 1763 [*], why Gordon is a Moron, the future of the picnic and anything else that people want to raise on the day.

Picnic will be held next to the Abolition of Slavery Monument, which is the candy coloured folly situated in Victoria Tower Gardens. VT Gardens are located between Lambeth Bridge and the House of Lords.

For more location details, see multi map here  http://www.multimap.com/maps/#t=l&map=51.49592,-0.1254|17|4&loc=GB:51.501:-0.1254:16|%20westminster|Westminster,%20station
Monument is not marked on map but you can't miss it once you find the park itself.
On map it's between Rodin's Burghers of Calais statue and the Lambeth Bridge roundabout.

Please come along in your finest Sunday regalia, and blank placards are very welcome. Regarding food and drink, please bring something nice to share. And a football would be nice..

Hope to see you there.

PS [*] to the question of EDM1763 for a Constitutional Convention, debate on how to put Gordon on the spot for all his rhetoric about a government of the talents, with the seed demand which EDM 1763 appears to contain: for a people-driven 'from below' constitution building process?

Anyway, I'll be bringing a copy of the Bill on Sunday so we can look at its key terms in more detail, face to face. Also, I think Brian's idea for a statement about Burma is an excellent one.

And Alison is thinking to bring a football, so at last we can have that game of SOCPA.

PPS if it's pissing down, I for one will be in the pub. Any problems finding us call / text
