CHRISTINE MULUMBA MUST STAY!
You can stop this deportation
FLIGHT ET711
Christine is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where an ongoing civil war has proved the deadliest, bloodiest conflict anywhere in the world since World War II. It is an extremely unsafe country to deport people to, yet the British government denies this and is busy purging the UK of Congolese refugees seeking asylum here, forcibly deporting them home, where they face routine imprisonment, torture and death.
Christine, a Christian human rights activist and campaigner in her home country, fled in 2003 when her Pastor, Fernando Kutino, was tortured and imprisoned by the military on false charges after he criticised foreign influence on the Congo's government. Claiming asylum in the UK, Christine was placed in Birmingham where she lived for four years as an active citizen. On Friday 29th June however, she was imprisoned without warning, and told her asylum claim had been refused 6 months ago. She had received no notification of this. As her friends, we were asked by her to form the Christine Mulumba Campaign to prevent her deportation.
She is due to be deported today from this airport on Ethiopian Airlines flight ET711. If you are on this flight, whether staff or passenger, we are here to inform you that you do have a choice. If you object to flying with her on board, then the flight cannot proceed with her on board and her deportation may be averted, giving the campaign vital time. We are asking you to object to flying, because Christine is on the flight, kidnapped and deported against her will to one of the most dangerous conflict zones in the world, to risk torture, imprisonment and death, whether at the hands of government or rebel regimes. Please show you care and help to prevent the deportation of Christine Mulumba.
