The ‘Lakenheath 8’ Pete, Richie, Mell, Lesley G, Lesley A, Margaret, Irene and Emma now have their trial dates for the action they took last October. The trial will take place on the 6th, 10th and 11th of July 2007 at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk courts.
The Eight are facing charges of SOCPA 128 (Criminal Trespass) and criminal damage after entering USAF Lakenheath and locked themselves to the special munitions area gates to stop the movement of cluster bombs and other munitions. USAF Lakenheath is the only place in the UK were the US keep their nuclear weapons. Up to 110 B-61 nuclear bombs at any one time.
The activists would like as much support as possible in the courts and also need help with travel costs to and from court. Some travelling from as far as Scotland and Leister, and they already have had 4 visits to the courts.
