Solidarity Demonstration for the Evicted Social Centre
Stoke-Newington..London...Sat 10 march 2007.
The recently evicted Vortex Solial Centre was a sad event for Stoke Newington.
It was occupied since 6 january
During this time the Vortex has had many many political and cultural events,film shows,live bands,cafes, exhibitions,mother and baby groups,teenage groups.
By occupying and opening the vortex ,we managed to create a sense of what it could be like if we did have that control,on a daily basis for ourselves and everyone.
The solidarity march was a lively event with a reasonable turnout. March was from the Abney gates to the Vortex.
After staying there for a couple of hours everyone set off to the Danish embassy for another Demo in solidarity with the evicted Copenhagen Solial Centre.
