2nite cinema showing "the corporation" @ 8 p.m.
Ok, we were joking, it was a spoof we are not under eviction, we just wanted to tasted the level of solidarity we would receive in case of eviction. thanks to everyone, now we know we are almost alone.
Ejhem, let's be serious. we spend last week waiting for the bad guys to show up for the reason we explain already in the previous posts. we felt for days adrenaline going up and up. We were, and still are, ready to resist and thanks to the experience of the resistance in march and april we manage to carry on with our weekly activity without difficulties. the only problem was, we didn't have enough food.
Latest news; (friday 19 october) OPEN's solicitors have now received a further letter from the Council's Legal and Democratic Services with the following information:
"Hackney Council have been directed by the Secretary of State not to grant planning permission to the LDA without specific authorization from her whilst she
considers an application that the matter be called in"
In the light of these new events we decided to remain alert and reinforce the resistance inside and outside the building. we do not think at this point to change plan and we reckon that the eviction is still potentially very imminent.
We still call everybody who has time and everybody who don't have any, to come and be with us during the day in the cafe' and for the more brave to join the roof crew and feel the fresh air of Dalston by night.
One thing is clear it can take another week or a month but we will not stop resisting the eviction.
we will keep indymedia update of any new "development" in the coming days.
solidarity
