Veteran anti-fascist, anti-capitalist activist Alf Burtman, from Lancing near Worthing in West Sussex, has died at the age of 90.
Alf took part, as a young man, in the Battle of Cable Street in 1936, when anti-fascists physically stopped Oswald Mosley's blackshirts from marching in East London.
He was well known and loved by radicals in the Worthing area and never gave up the political struggle.
His funeral is on Friday September 15 at 10.20am at Worthing Crematorium, off the A24 north of Findon. No flowers, but donations to Cuba Solidarity Fund.
