A banner was held from the front of the building (reading 'stop the arrests, Russia = Police State, resist the g8 summit') with another (reading 'Against Repression') being displayed from the 3rd floor Chamber of Commerce offices which was occupied by activists.
Leaflets explaining resistance to the G8 summit and capitalist systems, as well as current repression of activists in Russia, were given out to passers by - most very supportive of our actions and reasons. Following the arrests and police violence, local people offered support and even cups of tea - our thanks go to them!
The owners of the building used violence to evict the occupying activists, before several car and van loads of cops showed up, assaulted activists, and eventually arrested two. At least two activists who were 'detained' were released because the cops wernt 'sure why they were holding them'! lol
More info as it comes.
Best luck and wishes to our comrades in Russia!!!
