Army invades Nablus, arrests 9 including a young woman

The Israeli army invaded the West Bank city of Nablus on Monday morning and arrested 9 residents including a young woman.
Army vehicles and jeeps stormed the city and the nearby Balata refugee camp and arrested several residents. IMEMC reporter in the city, said troops invaded some houses and turned them into a military post and locked all the family members in one room of the house, and positioned snipers on the roof tops.

Also an eyewitness American peace activist who is working with the International Solidarity Movement, (ISM) in Nablus told IMEMC that the army randomly attacked several stores and houses.

She added that this is part of the ongoing invasions into the city which resumed on Thursday.

The arrested included Saher Hawash, Imad akash, 21, Mohaned Hamamah, 26, Khaled Hanon, 18, Lo'ai Hamed, 27, and Rania Al Jafari, local sources reported.

The army claimed that those invasions are mainly focused on locating and arresting Palestinian resistance activists, however residents confirmed that most of the arrestees are civilians.


Student arrested at Israeli checkpoint near Kofer Laqef village

Laith Nasser, a university student from the village of Kofer Laqef east of the West Bank city of Qalqilia was arrested by the Israeli army, Monday at dawn.

Nasser was arrested while crossing the Biet Iba military checkpoint while going back to his village coming from Nablus were he goes to university, eyewitnesses reported. No reason was given for the arrest.







Two injured, including teen, as Israeli forces continue to pound northern Gaza

Palestinian security sources reported that a Palestinian man and boy suffered shrapnel wounds Monday morning, after Israeli tanks occupying the northeastern Gaza Strip border fired tank shells.

Palestinian medical sources in the northern Kamal Adwan Hospital reported that a 15 year old is moderately injured in both legs, while the adult man is injured in the hand.

The man sells beans for work, while the 15 year old was simply in the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli tanks have renewed their intensive bombardment with heavy artillery on regions in the northern Gaza Strip Monday morning. The Israeli Army spokesman claims that the bombardment is meant to discourage Palestinian resistance fighters from firing homemade shells into Israel, but Palestinians have noted that the Israeli bombardment, amounting to 100-300 shells a day (one at least every fifteen seconds) for the last three weeks, have instead hit neighborhoods, homes and children.

Also on Monday The Nasser Salah Addin Brigades, the military wing affiliated with the Popular Resistance Committees, have claimed that their fighters threw a flaming bottle at an Israeli patrol while the Israeli forces were combing the area east of the city of Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Brigades said that this operation was in response to the Israeli crimes and aggressions, of which the last was the killing of five of the Brigades' resisters this weekend in the As-Sabrah district..


Israeli Army arrests one Palestinian from Al Nasrawiah village

The Israeli troops arrested Adel Balawona, 22, from the village of Al Nasrawiah southeast of the West Bank city of Tubas, Thursday morning.

Balawona was arrested when troops attacked his home along with other several homes in the village, then he was taken to an unknown location by Israeli soldiers, his family reported.

Three youth arrested from Beit Fourek village by Israeli army

The Israeli army arrested three youth from the village of Beit Fourek east of the West Bank city of Nablus, Monday morning.

The boys were identified as Mojamed Haninni, Mohmaed Adel, Abd Al Rahem Haninni. All were taken to unknown locations after troops searched their homes, eyewitnesses reported.




Palestinian arrested from Al Sawahra Al Sharqia village near Jerusalem

The Israeli army invaded Al Sawahra Al Sharqia near Jerusalem and arrested one resident, on Monday at dawn.

Sofian Shahin, 27, was arrested when troops stormed his family home and destroyed his family's belongings, and then he was taken to an unknown location.

Previously, Shahin's sister Sawosan was arrested on Sunday when she was crossing a military checkpoint while going back from her university, the family reported.

The family also added that their oldest brother was arrested two and half years ago for being politically active in the Fatah movement in Jerusalem city and is still imprisoned in the Jerusalem military detention center.



Three Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces in At'til village

Israeli forces arrested three Palestinian young men, including two brothers ,in the town of At'til north of Tulkarem early Sunday.

Local Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces entered the town at dawn and broke into many houses and arrested the two brothers Tha'er and Mohammad Shahir, 20 and 25 years old, and took them to an unknown destination.

The reporter added that the same force broke into the house of Salah Fadil Najeeb, 20 years old, and took him to an unknown location.


Israeli Army attacks shops and houses in Hebron; imposes siege

The Israeli army closed the West Bank city of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, putting it under an intensified military siege while soldiers attacked and searched several Palestinian shops and homes in the old city area, on Monday.

Soldiers stationed at the military checkpoints all over the city detained school children, searched them and assaulted some of them, eyewitnesses said.

Meanwhile, troops also targeted some shops in the old city area and homes. Damage to the residents' belongings was also reported.
