Whistle Blower leaks UK (War) Plans for Iran
John Sawers is the Political Director of the British Foreign Office, and one of their most senior civil servants. He served as Tony Blair’s envoy to Baghdad. A letter he wrote to Tony Blair days after the occupation of Iraq was leaked. In it, he appears intelligent, insightful, and well informed.
Now another letter of his is leaked. In this one, he describes the plan the Foreign office is going to follow over the next few months. This plan is to convince Russia and China to agree to an attack on Iran. This letter documents a British diplomat talking to his counterparts in France, Germany and the US, about what appears to be a coordinated strategy. Their goal is UN approval for an unprovoked war on Iran.

Australian parliament embraces Blair’s lies and hypocrisy
In the Australian parliament, Blair’s rhetoric found a receptive audience. The main reason is that the government of Prime Minister John Howard is no less guilty of war crimes than the US and British administrations. On the basis of the same lies about WMDs, Australian troops were dispatched to the 2003 invasion of Iraq in order to guarantee US backing for Australian interests. Australian forces remain in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Pensions Strike
UK: Tuesday 28th March 2006 saw over a million workers take part in the largest one day strike in Britain since the general strike of 1926. Every town, borough and city in the country saw workers set up multiple picket lines to defend their pension rights. This attack on pension rights is part of the global neo-liberal attack on welfare, employment rights and the environment that is provoking a wave of global resistance. On the same day just across the channel in France millions of workers were also on the streets and on strike.
This massive one-day show of strength comes after decades of defeat for the trade union movement in Britain, but on 28th March over a million trades unionists stood together and caught a glimpse of their potential power to change the world.

Reports from the picket lines.
According to the BBC, Sky and ITV1 there are over 1 million on Strike.
The biggest walkout for 70 years.
