Following an Interim Possession Order issued by Shoreditch County Court yesterday Friday 3rd [report], occupiers at the Dalston Theatre and local people supporting the occupation are now in stand by, waiting for an eviction attemp that can happen at any time from today at 7pm.
At the moment the social centre is open to anyone that wants to go down there to show solidarity, or to help out preparing resistance to the eviction. Music is coming out the loud speakers, and the athmosphere is quite hectic although festive and positive.
An open meeting for all those supporting the eviction has been called for today at 5.30 pm. The meeting will address the situation created after yesterday's court ruling, and also discuss and decide strategies for how to resist the eviction. Everyone is welcome!
Also, from about 6 - 6,30 pm a Guerrilla Screening is being organised in the street outside Dalston Theatre, in Dalson Lane. There will be showing a film about the resistance to the eviction of the Euskal Jai social centre in Euskal Herria, that took about a week to evict due to activists' defiance [report and pics] There will also be films about local struggles and recent occupations in the Hackney and Dalston areas. Please come down there tonight and support the resistance to the eviction.
The address is 4-14 Dalston Lane, London E8 . Phone 07919998567 for latest information.
