Accelerated Nepotism by Tony Blair
10.01.2006 20:35
In case you didn't hear about it, Tony Blair had on 30 December 2005 issued a series of announcements from his official address at No 10 Downing Street.
They included a remarkable description in praise of a town clerk in an inner city London Borough council. Tower Hamlets.
The citation said that the town clerk, named Christine Gilbert, had been made a ‘CBE’ (‘Companion of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire’) for ‘achievements’ in ‘achieving accelerated delivery of service’
