This is clearly an attempt to directly implicate the Iranian government and indicates a further deterioration in relationships between the two administrations. The crucial question remains about the longer term military aims of the British and US. The more the uncertainty the greater the incentive for Iran to support resistance to the US/UK forces in Iraq. If the allegations about Iranian involvement are true then the greater the justification for an attack against Iran appears to become. A downward spiral that no doubt suits the long term ambitions of PNAC and others.
On a side issue it is interesting that British are citing the use of a particular type of weapon called a 'shaped charge' as evidence of Iranian involvement. A cursory Google search reveals these widely available and sold for civilian as well as military applications. Examples of UK, Australian and US suppliers can be found here, here and here. The question therefore arises why should the use of these weapons should be taken as in any way implying Iranian involvement? The British government is going to face a continuous struggle for credibility in any issues relating to intelligence so long as this man remains in power.

The Iranian involvement in supporting the insurgency in Iraq is well documented and accepted but despite this a well organised campaign seems to have suddenly appeared trying to pretend there is none.

I can't understand the mentality of you people. In your world brutal tyrannical dictatorships like Iran who only two months ago you were strongly condeming for executing two teenagers are in the right, and free democracies like Britain which allow people to speak their minds and exercise their rights are in the wrong! What knid of world do you want? One run by democratic nations who cherish freedom or one run by Islamic despotic dictatorships?

Also, we are not a democracy, far from it in fact. I don't know where you get this idea from.

Better out than in. As Hitler never said, since he was pathologically scared of breaking wind (though not lightning war).

This is what Regime's like Bliars do when they get caught in such activities, go on the offensive, and pour so many Distractions on the public that everyone forgets to follow up on the story.
And the Propaganda is based upon a faulty premise anyhow, seeing as the US and UK attacked Iraq in an unprovoked, long-meditated act of Naked Aggression, in full violation of International Laws. The Iraqi Resistance has every right to try to force the Foreign Aggressor from within their borders, and any State would be within their to aid them.
But unless Bliar or his pundits infecting this site can provide any evidence, this sounds like yet another case of "Saddam could attack with nuclear weapons in 45 minutes!!!" ...
Bullsh*t.
