Sussex Police show customary restraint towards peace demo - ringleader nicked

Eisenstein | 13.08.2005 14:26 | Anti-militarism | Repression | London | South Coast

In a typically restrained and reasonable manner, Sussex Police stopped an attempted march through Brighton against local arms manufacturer EDO.

Two obvious ringleaders, aged 16 and 83, were arrested for the new offence of 'giving a fuck about stuff' and a third troublemaker was cuffed to prevent him attacking the eight cops surrounding him. A black man makes a getaway before armed response turn up.

More reasonable policing expected later today as a peace camp (god, these people are sinister...) is set up ooutside EDU arms factory on the outskirts of Brighton.

Does anybody have more footage from the Edo demo on Saturday 13th August? Particularly photographs or video footage prior to the arrests.
