Nice photography - but you do think - not another bloody one! Then one sees that appalling Shoreditch New Meedja Twat venue - The Foundry...It's all for consumption. Style shopping. Culture Surfing. Social Climbing.

In this almost exclusively middle class movement one ( doesn't one, maaaam :-) ) has to wonder at the ammount of globe-trooting artistes and networkers , fourth-rate filmmakers, third-rate authours, creepy despearte journos, and skill-less charityscum that are doing a nice-little-earner repeatig the same stuff over and over without really changing anything, kowtowing to the establishment, patronising peasants, making sure you keep as far away from home as possible.

Yes there are people among this doing genuine work but they are very outnumbered by the rest of them/you. Anyone fancy a little trip to Brazil? Greece? A spot of networking? Don't worry if you are a rich arrogant pillock? Need a spot of funding? It's quite amazing how many rich ( and I do mean Rich! ) people seem to be involved in the movement and the way they are involved. Remember this next time you are sitting in a pig cell.

I think the previous comment is a bit confusing because there are so many different issues mentioned. To say that it makes no difference/doesn't change anything is such a cliche-people say that about all forms of protest in the same way with out much foundation. How exactly do you quantify whether something changes things? The Art world is full of funding from the richest corporations etc. but like everyone else artists have to make a living and as corporations controll the art gallerys there's not an enormous amount of choice about where to exhibit. It's like trying to tell everyone never to shop at a supermarket. Surely it's possible to critisize companies while at the same time buying from them/exhibiting in their gallery? We can't pretend they don't controll the market. 'Networking' is a word that sends shivers through my bones but artists have a lot of power and it's a matter of getting that funding and using it to open peoples eyes through powerful images when the world is over run by crude ones.

Really good idea to spread seeds of doubt among people who, despite having the money, see the necessity to help other people who don't. While the 'working classes' are, of course, refusing to text Big Brother and donating the money to civil liberties instead. What a tosser.

What a twat. I'm working class and I go to the Foundry, most of the people that I know there are too, and they are also creative, and skint. Can't working class people be creative without having to be described as middle class? Aren't the working classes clever enough or something? You are a patronising twat. If the foundry and the art work are as you describe, I wouldn't be seen dead in there.
As for the exhibition, Jess Hurd is an activist and has become a photo journalist, and and has had her fair share of tear gas and police aggression and she's capturing the movement so that those of us who can't afford a quick trip to Brazil or Greece can see and understand what's going on in the world.
You are a twat. And really not very helpful if you can so easily rubbish people who are working as hard as you are to try to create change.
