A peaceful and moving vigil took place in Parliament Square this evening, followed by a memorial service in Westminster Cathedral to co-incide with his funeral in Brazil.

This evening saw a very low key, non confrontational and sad vigil timed to co-incide with the funeral of Jean Charles de Menezes, an innocent bystander of the current London bombing campaign who was murdered in a "split second decision" last week by British police.

After a number of moving speeches by friends of Jean, the meeting moved to join other mourners in a requiem service at Westminster Cathedral.
