There Are Flowers At The Station

kevin raymond | 13.07.2005 09:32 | London

This short poem is dedicated to those who died or were injured and those who lost or had loved ones injured in the London bombings. The poem suggests that we try to grieve for our loved ones, the injured and our city without resorting to the terrible witchhunts of the past to relieve our anger. Peace

There Are Flowers At The Station

There are flowers at the station
So we don't forget
Such madness and devastation
Is still with us just yet
All lives have been interrupted
Some not to resume
Now we must be careful
That hatred shant consume
Each and every one of us
Is affected by the wrong
Each and every one of us
Struggles to move on
We all look for a culprit
On which to vent our angst
They are not all terrorists
Yet we blame them and be damned
We need a hate to ease our state
Of mourning for the dead
Love would be so wonderful
Remember them with that instead !
