Squat the lot- Fuck G8- Homes for all

E.Viction

Result ! Victory over baliffs

05.07.2005 09:07

A good turn out by local squatters and a highly defendable building ensured that the baliffs were frustrated today. Police were unwilling to assist with an eviction at this time, prefering instead to mount a larger well planned operation at a later date.

The homes of at least 50 people have been saved for the time being at least. The huge building contains 17 flats, each containing 3 - 5 people. The building has been squatted for around three months and is due to be demolished in another three months. Almost two years ago, the building next to the squat was burned down in what some people consider suspicious circumstances. The building now being squatted was undamaged but now both buildings will be demolished to make way for a new developement.

In the meantime, those squatting have retained their homes for a little longer although the ballifs and better prepared cops will be back.
