Wednesday to be EDO demo day

EDO out | 04.06.2005 13:31 | Anti-militarism | Repression | London | South Coast

Noise demos outside the factory of Brighton arms dealers EDO/MBM will now be taking place every Wednesday from 4-6. We will meet at the bottom of Home Farm Road and march up to EDO together.

Come along and show EDO what a waste of £50,000 their injunction and expensive fence are.
Show Sussex Police we won't be intimidated into submission by their show of strength last Tuesday. Will you be sending up 80 thugs every week to harass peaceful protesters? If so we might need to think about taking out an injunction against Sussex police!
Come along to the demo next Saturday at the Level when the sun will surely be shining on us like last Tuesday.

Alternative protest.

Hi since about 10 Edo protestors are now banned from entering Home farm road and the injunction also prevents us from standing around the entrance to Lewes road, some of us have a new place to protest.

If you are one of the people who fit into this category then please come to the area of the BP garage at the bottom of Bear road where a protest will occur in tandem with the other protest which is outside Edo.

Look out for the banner, a good number of Edo workers pass this way as well as thousands of commuters, so we will be a powerful forms of advertising for the campaign and for protest.

Mr Smash Edo

Mr Smashnik is a deceiver

This alternative second demo is a fraud

Interesting metaphysical tactic from the warmongers.

Provoke a crisis of authenticity and then perhaps the 'real' Smash EDO may feel jealous that they are losing authority, and stand up and be identified to the police-and then get sued.

Too much Heidigger being read at Emblem House I think.

Check the website to authenticate demo
See you on Saturday at the Level.

Bogus alternative demos

06.06.2005 08:30

There are bogus posts on Indymedia advertising "alternative actions" under the smashEDO banner. They appear to be disinformation, as they insinuate that they are from people who have undertaken actions against EDO in the past.

Please check  http://www.smashedo.org.uk , which is updated regularly. If an "alternative action" is not advertised there, then it is nothing to do with those who have undertaken previous actions.

The "Mr. Smash Edo" above appears to have an agenda of his own, and I most certainly would not turn up at any BP service station on his word alone.

hmm

06.06.2005 09:47

seems to me that smash edo want to have total control of the demos, "work within our agenda and if you do anything on your own we will scream and scream until we are sick because it is our demo, we thought of it first, boo hoo".

doubtful

Control Freaks

So where do those on bail protest? Shall I just stay at home? Who says SmashEDO gets to say who are real protesters, who aren't and where they should demonstrate. How do I know you are Smash EDO?

A protester

Simple!

06.06.2005 11:55

Look, EDO will try to stop protests outside factory/offices, simply because it is bad for business. They will try to use indymedia to confuse decated protestors.

So, for actions arranged by smash edo, go to www.smashedo.org.uk

Just becareful! EDO wants to trick us!

I'm sure that smashEDO .....

06.06.2005 12:38

.... would be all in favour of people organising their own pickets, actions and stuff against EDO. The issue is when postings start appearing on Indymedia purporting to come from smashEDO when those who have been undertaking the actions know nothing about it. It isn't the first group that has had this kind of scenario on Indymedia either.

It also makes sense for those on bail restrictions to communicate between themselves, rather than placing a "general call out" on the newswire.

The two recent posts have advertised alternatives to co-incide with planned actions - wouldn't it be more effective if actions planned by others were at different times. There isn't anything planned for 4 out of 5 working days at the moment.

As for me, I don't sign myself smashEDO, do I? Thats cos I is ftp not smashEDO.......
