MAzine will bring together a dynamic community, starting with those engaged in post graduate and other research. It represents an experimental model for online collaboration and communication that challenges ideas about publishing and intellectual property.
Many of the team behind MAzine will be present during their Cybersonica launch (at the Dana Centre) to explain how others can get involved. The "Cybersonica Multi-blog" has been set up within MAzine for the event, providing live coverage and the chance for visitors and participatants to get involved, and capture the "feeling on the ground". Ruth Catlow, co-editor, says that "those unable to visit the Festival will still be able to get a strong sense of what's going on and add their comments".
The developers of MAzine are keen to collaborate with others who are interested in exploring the opportunities offered by new media and networked communities. Shanyin Hung (Technical Manager) says "We'd love to talk to you if you wish to be part of this project, and encourage contributions in any form, from technical input to research projects, the submission of articles, comments or information about events."
MAzine can be found in the Café during Cybersonica 2005 at the Science Museum's Dana Centre (on Thursday 28th and Friday, 29th April, 12-10pm) You can follow this online at: http://www.mazine.ws/CybersonicaMultiBlog
