Saturday saw the successful launch of a week of protest which ends with a public demonstration in Meridian Square, Stratford Station on the 19th February at 1pm. 20 traditional narrowboats travelled the canals and gathered at the site of the proposed Olympic Stadium.
The week of protests coincides with the well-published London visit of the IOC Evaluation Commission. It is important to show that there IS opposition in London and that it is vocal and creative.
For that reason, please join the demonstration:
SAT 19th FEB, 1pm, Meridian Square, Stratford Station. The theme is "Peoples Games". Bring beach balls, frisbees, skipping rope, 'egg n spoon', tracksuits, whistles etc etc. We will march on to Hackney Marshes for fun and sporting frolics!
There will also be a Critical Mass - 6pm FRI 18 FEB: Cyclists against the bid. Meet 6 pm outside GLA, by Tower Bridge. Bikes & skateboards welcome!
