Some people who attend protests and meetings of a political nature have grown used to a particular police presence know as the Forward Intelligence Team. This team ostentatiously takes photographs and makes notes. To the uninitiated this can seem intimidating and acts as a deterrent to participation. Those who have been photographed very many times however think it is a ridiculous waste of police time which could be better spent elsewhere.
