Peace Not War party is not a public event...

Karuna | 11.02.2005 09:07 | London

If you were planning to go to the Peace Not War party tomorrow, please read on. Just found this on their website...

"Valentine's Make Love Not War Party
HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY
CANCELLED!

The dance music event previously publicized to be held on
Saturday 12th February
WILL NOT BE HAPPENING AT ALL SORRY! Asian Dub Foundation etc will not be there.

The cancellation was under threat of a £20,000 fine from Islington Council, arising from a misunderstanding about the licensing laws.

However the workshops being organized by the Creative Forum (an independent organization) WILL CONTINUE AS PLANNED (without public entertainment).

If you go to the venue on the night of Sat 12 Feb you may be invited in, as a friend, for a cup of tea by the present occupying caretakers."

"If you would like to suppor the Circle Community Centre, please go to the Islington Council planning meeting on Monday 14th February: 7pm at Archway Campus Union Building, Highgate Hill N17 (Archway tube). You can voice your objections to St George's being changed from a community centre to a single-denomination church with very little community access."
