Carnage in the Canteen

Oh Shit | 22.12.2004 19:47 | Anti-militarism | London

Puddles of bright red blood, lunch trays and overturned tables and chairs covered the floor.  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4116343.stm

The deadliest attack on US forces in Mosul since the war began, received one minute coverage on the BBC news and was hidden on page 16 of the Daily Express, at the end of an article about Blair's impromptu visit to Iraq, as part of his election campaign, which has begun 17 months early. The horrific death of 22 servicemen and critical injuries of dozens more, was superseded on the front page by the irrelevant, continuing saga of disgraced Blunkett's mistress' nanny's visa.
