Sauce for the goose

What's sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander. That's globalisation, folks !

"The second ....... presidential election ...... did not meet a considerable number of OSCE commitments, Council of Europe and other European standards for democratic elections. As in the first ... "  http://www.osce.org/

"The US State Department said it was "deeply concerned" about the election and threatened to review ...... if the government failed to investigate the allegations of election fraud."  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4034287.stm

In Cuyahoga County, Ohio " in 30 precincts, more ballots were cast than voters were registered in the county. According to county regulations, voters must cast their ballot in the precinct in which they are registered. Yet in these thirty precincts, nearly 100,000 more people voted than are registered to vote - this out of a total of 251,946 registrations. These are not marginal differences - this is a 39% over-vote. In some precincts the over-vote was well over 100%. One precinct with 558 registered voters cast nearly 9,000 ballots.

"Despite the suspiciously high turnout in some regions (for example 96.31% in Donetsk and 88.41% in Lugansk, according to the preliminary CEC turnout figures), overcrowding was reported by IEOM observers as less of a problem in eastern regions than elsewhere. ..... A high number of voters – approximately 5 per cent - were added to voter lists on election day. Almost all of the added voters used absentee certificates. This is of concern in view of the abuse of these documents noted by long-term observers prior to the election, and of the high number of voters using absentee voting certificates on election day, some being transported by bus.... Of course, the first two quotations refer to elections in Ukraine.
This is very curious in the case of the second.

Americans have told me (some using their customary coarse ass-style phraseology) that it is not acceptable for one country to take any interest in the elections of another !
