European taxpayers have been paying billions of dollars to build airplanes, sending jobs to Asia and the United States while there are almost 20 million Europeans out of work- essentially we are paying a weapons maker like EADS to send jobs to ASia and the United States. World Trade Organisation chief Supachai Panitchpakdi criticised private companies like Airbus saying they were helping to fuel tensions in the global free trade system. Why are we Europeans helping to subsidize a French weapons maker like EADS via its subsidiary Airbus? According to the WTO it is time for the private sector to sink or swim on its own 'All these disputes are mainly because of a lack of adjustment by the private sector,' the WTO director general said.
