Crossrail was a joint venture project between Transport for London (TfL) and the Strategic Rail Authority (SRA). The SRA was created by ex-lawyer and principal architect of privatisation in Britain Adrian Montague. This man has been rewarded time and time again for costing the taxpayers millions while being given massive bonuses. Search Google and see how many hospitals and socially beneficial projects this man has ruined.
Many public transport schemes permits rail interests like the Strategic Rail Authority (SRA) and Network Rail to compulsory purchase land to sell it off to developers like Stanhope and Hammersons. Many people had learned how to use the legal system to make sure that communities were protected. But the Government then introduced a mechanism called the hybrid bill to ride roughshod over the East End.
Crossrail plans to dig a huge shaft with a tunnelling and waste transfer point in the heart of Brick Lane and Spitalfields were not known about in the East End of London until it was effectively too late. It published materials in a variety of foreign languages except the languages of certain areas like Spitalfields where many people speak Bengali and Somali. The result was that these people were removed from the process. The normal modus operandi of these projects is to claim a public infrastucture project will benefit the community such as The East London Line Extension but this is false and once a whole area has been demolished, developers like Hammersons buy the land cheaply waiting for a suitable opportunity to build high density office blocks.
Local council Tower Hamlets headed by a body of corrupt Labour councillors such as Leader Helal Abbas and planning officers such as Owen Whalley ensured the community were kept in the dark and supported plans to compulsory purchase the area. They have more recently unveiled plans to turn Spitalfields into an area with more high density office blocks than Canary Wharf. They ensured the community were kept in the dark by forgetting to provide the names of local groups.
The Greater London Assembly led by Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, who has been coached by previous City head New Zealander Judith Mayhew to support schemes that will obviously result in displacing poor communities. Livingstone, Liberal Democrat Simon Hughes are all taken up by the City of London's riches built on exploitation and destruction of the social fabric are supporting Crossrail even though it will turn working class and immigrant areas of the East End into construction sites for at least the next ten years. Local Labour member John Biggs is the member for the City, Newham and Tower Hamlets has hardly any support in Newham and Tower Hamlets communities which he has betrayed but yet he still gets to represent them as they are included as part of the City.
In short, the Government led by Tony McNulty, his wife and chief executive of Tower Hamlets Council Christine Gilbert, Tower Hamlets Council Labour councillors, GLA Labour, City, East and Newham GLA Labour member John Biggs are collectively working to remove the East End community from their homes.

Following Labour's election victory, Adrian became the £160,000 a year head of Gordon Brown's Treasury Taskforce on PFI, responsible for drawing up the rules for handing control of hospitals and schools to banks and construction firms.
Adrian was rewarded with a CBE in the last New Years Honours "for services to the private finance initiative", and was given a job as deputy chair of Partnerships UK when the treasury task force itself was privatised this year.
His special talent, however, is in transport. When he worked for city solicitors, Linklaters, he helped John Major draw up the disastrous privatisation plans for British Rail. Under Labour he then "rescued" one PFI scheme: the collapsing Channel Tunnel Rail Link. According to the National Audit Office, thanks to Adrian's scheme "the taxpayer could be exposed to further financial risk of £360 million on current forecasts" in the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link contract.
Adrian's experience in these two transport disasters encouraged John Prescott to make him a member of his Strategic Rail Authority in 2000, a quango designed to help fix the disastrous privatisation of British Rail partly created by Adrian himself. Prescott then made him his Private Finance Adviser in a one-day-a-week, £30,000 a year job, focusing especially on the privatisation of London Underground.
Simultaneously Adrian took a job as adviser with a giant French Bank, Societe Generale. SocGen are the largest shareholder in Alcatel, one of the firms bidding to privatise the Tube.
Also was chairman of British Energy - the other racket that keeps us cold in winter and try and make it difficult for us to generate our own energy...Don't worry these bastards help along global warming quite nicely so heating bills will go down.....

The community in the brick lane London e1 area is being violated by the
Crossrail hole bill.
This bill has been awaiting passage in the UK parliament after the formalities of the select committee have been disposed of. With a strong majority in the commons subject to control; by an openly authoritarian Blarite whipping squad, the barite bill is guaranteed to be passed when the formal vote charade is staged on the bill.
This is then time for string challenge in the society outside of parliament to be voiced against this seriously flawed and anti-social
bill.
The Crossrail hole bill is ill conceived, unnecessary and will make the brick lane area even poorer.
We have been campaigning against the Crossrail hole bill for then past nearly 2 years.
In the next few weeks we are publishing the facts about how the crossrail hole bill will destroy the east end
We are calling on all people of good sense and principle to stand up to the
Promoters of the Crossrail hole Bill.

The item we published on this site in the KHOODEELAAR breaking news edition at 0110 Hrs GMT on 13 December 2005 was taken from a pro-Crossrail hole Bill organisation. We carried it to show the facts of how the pro-Crossrail hole Bill lobby were active in the promotion of the hole Bill.
They are alert and are vigilantly pressing the Blair regime to make more public cash available for the Crossrail hole venture that will enable the city of London interests to reap the harvest of public dosh in the constriction and building bonanza they expect the hole Bill to unleash when that Bill is made into an Act of Parliament.
As the City of London interests crave the loot, the community in the Brick Lane London E1 Area faces destruction.
