It is quite, quite likely that election was stolen, in an even more sinister way than the last one.
Diebold machines in Ohio. Spoiled ballots, probably well over one hundred thousand in Ohio. Provisional ballots not counted (largely submitted by African Americans, and people living in Democratic districts). As many as 250,000 votes simply not counted in Ohio.
The exact numbers will be coming out soon, in a story being done by Greg Palast.
Once again we seem to see a verification of a principle stated by a noted theologian:
"Christianity suffers under a great handicap because it has become identified in the minds of all the world as a part of the social system, the industrial life, and the moral standards of Western civilization; and thus has Christianity unwittingly seemed to sponsor a society which staggers under the guilt of tolerating science without idealism, politics without principles, wealth without work, pleasure without restraint, knowledge without character, power without conscience, and industry without morality."
Here we have a prime example of "science without idealism," where advanced technology, the "voting machine" is used to actually thwart the democratic process.
International Observers in the US, said this election process has been less transparent than elections in Kazakhstan and in Serbia, because the machines used in Ohio and Florida, especially the Diebold machines do not allow the process to be monitored, checked, or verified--- nor or recounts possible.
INDUSTRY WITOUT MORALITY.
POLITICS WITHOUT PRINCIPLES.
POWER WITHOUT CONSCIENCE
The Republicans stood in the way of all attempts to implement some other kind of system, whether it was paper ballots (which international observers say is more fair) or optical scanning machines, which leave a verifiable trail.
The owner of Diebold said he would do everything to get Bush elected, and he did.
Diebold may have been the decisive factor in both Florida and in Ohio.
Let's do the research.
Media pundits have asserted that exit polls are not accurate. In truth: Exit polls are the most accurate form of polling.
They are tend to be more accurate than other forms of polling because they are based on very large samples, and they contain more demographic information. You are not correct in some of your assertions about exit polls. The poll results are calculated according to statistical models, which make sure that neither male nor females, for instance, will be over represented.
Here is what AP said about exit polls in the 2000 election:
"How accurate were the exit polls around the country for this presidential election?
The exit polls predicted the percentage of votes in each state that each presidential candidate would receive. The differences between the exit poll percentages and the actual percentages the candidates received ranged from 0% to 2.6%. In only nine states was the difference greater than 1%, and in only one state (Alaska) was the difference greater than 2%.

-------------------
My comment: Indymedia Readers are probably aware that standard polls have a much greater margin of error, usually 3-4 %, depending on the size of the sample, which usually is between 800 to 1200.
Exit polls make use of 10's of thousands people, sometimes in only one small area.
Here I must emphasize my point:
KERRY WAS THE PREDICTED VICTOR IN FLORIDA, ACCORDING TO EXIT POLLS BY A MARGIN OF FOUR PER CENT. YET BUSH WON, SUPPOSEDLY BY FIVE PER CENT.
THIS REPRESENTS A MARGIN OF ERROR OF NINE PER CENT.
This would be an unprecedented margin of error for exit polls.
In other words, something happened in Florida.
What happened?
1. Diebold Voting Machines (Also used in Ohio). These can, and quite possibly were hacked into. (See BlackBoxvoting.com on this issue.
2. Large numbers of spoiled ballots (Punch card ballots which did not register votes, because the were produced by old worn out machines in primarily black districts, where people vote 90 per cent Democratic.
3. Provisional Ballots, and Absentee ballots which numbered in the tens of thousands were not counted. In one district alone over 50,000 absentee ballots were never sent out.
What happened in Ohio was even worse, but I will give you more on that later.
Exit polls predicted easy wins for Kerry in both Florida and Ohio.
There are many, many sources you can review to get the full story, which is still developing.

Listen to the most recent shows, especially where Greg Palast is interviewed.
The story of the "shoplifted election" is already well known in Britain, and has been broadcast as a major story on the BBC.
I am getting email from British friends about the result.
A shame that our corporate controlled media won't even touch the story.
Even if you don't accept the story as totally valid, readers might want to wonder why our media is not even debating the issue, or questioning the result AT ALL?
ON Fox News I heard a round table mention that some "conspiracy theorists" were going to bring up Diebold, and question Bush's legitimacy. They all laughed and then went on.
That is how serious our media is about the issue. However, go to the foreign media, go the alternative media. Air America Radio. Randi Rhodes. Flashpoints. Democracy Now, and you will get plenty of detail.
