"In 1998, Transport for London (TfL) appointed a consortium, TranSys, to deliver the new smartcard system.
TranSys brings together four of the world's leading companies in the transport and technology sectors - Electronic Data System Ltd (EDS), Cubic Corporation, Fujitsu and WS Atkins.
Cubic Corporation's expected revenue *alone* is estimated to be worth approximately $700 million over 17 years. " from alt Oystercard site.
Notice the same names coming up again and again - corporations who rip us for billions like Fujitsu a PFI fave.( their software is FUCKED-unfit dfor purpose!).... The list is endless, seriously endless of how much we are being ripped by MPs, property developers, supermarkets, corporations etc. Check Corporate Watch, Private Eye, etc. etc.
