On the 12th of October Hands of Venezuela and Rythms of Resistance organised a picket in front of the USA embassy in solidarity with indigeneous struggle in The Americas.

The 12th of October is celebrated in The Americas Spain and Portugal as the day of the race. It was on a 12th of October more than 500 hundred years ago that colonisation of the Americas started with the genocide of the indigenous populations. Now a days the colonisation continues with a model of government bassed on colonial rules that supports the interests of the oligarquies. At the same time this model of government gives free entrance to multinational corporations to exploit the natural resources of these countries without regard for the needs of its inhabitatants.

The 12 of October has been declared by a group of activists around the world as a day of indigenous resistance. Many demostrations have happened in different parts of Europe and The Americas. Here in London people from Hands of Venezuela, Rythms of Resistance and The Global Women Strike marched from the Mexican embassy with Zapatist activists towards the USA embassy. A giant head of American president Mr Bush dressed up as Columbus with a flying parrot as a companion and giants hands all over the globe. In front of the USA embassy there was samba, speaches and a general positive mood that was not spoiled by a escualido representing the oposition in Venezuela with a torn up Venezuelan flag saying Venezuela needs help. Help from who we wonder.

Dear friend,

I am here to help you edit and get the exact news on anything that has ben happening here.

But I am specifically writing this message so you can correct an important mistake in this article- it is not "hands of Venezuela"- it is "Hands OFF Venezuela" or HOV, at www.handsoffvenezuela.org

I myself am starting the first Quaker Meeting in Venezuela, and I a writing up reports on a lot of stuff I've seen myself, such as the use of coke by Halliburton and Chevron managers for sex with young girls.

Obviously, its not just the oil they want- the coke is REALLY what people from the US seem to want the most.

In fact, as you see Holland complain about Venezuela messing with Aruba and other such islands, we laugh as we ALL kno that Aruba is the top stopover for coke to Europe, and a main place for people to come party and snort a lot cheap- and to fck, of course. Here, Holland is knows as 'the place where all are thrown on the street drugged" even though here there are many more drugs than there!

I know what its all about- I grew up in the Shell colony, too. See www.ebv.org.ve and www.wayuuyala.org
