More on the Circle line party

Story of the Circle Line party from some people that were there. At about 2030hr some 175 people gathered at Victoria tube station. After being ordered to spread out by Underground personnel a discussion followed. After a while the people left the station and decide to go to another station. A large number of police showed up suddenly and boxed in about 60-70 people in front of Belgravia Police station. They were taken out of the box, body searched and details taken. After that they were send away in two's. They were told to spread out in the area and that they should not return in groups (section 60?). One person is still being held at Belgravia police station.

Respect to the idea of this but the thought of being on the tube for a party sounds even less appealing than a punk gig at a squat!

Space, the final frontier!

I understand your reservations about the venue - not an obvious place to have a party after all.
But, the main idea behind these actions is to reclaim and therefore re-empower spaces normally seen as 'institutional' (and therefore alienating and disempowering) as public spaces.

Space Hijackers.

Look 'em up sometime.

Good news just in!
One man - the DJ dubversion - was arrested as a result of the CLP, and - ridiculously - charged with (IIRC) attempting to endanger life, with OB alleging he tried to force someone onto the track.
at long last - after several police-requested delays, and with both sides real;ising the whole thing was a farce - the case came to trial. It has ended today with the judge throwing the whole thing out, and more or less calling the police liars (("there seem to be inconsistencies between police and eyewitness accounts).
CLP 1 Police 0!
