Commissioned by the ICA, the Pet Shop Boys performed live last night in Trafalger Square their new soundtrack to Eisenstein's classic film Battleship Potemkin (1925).

Trafalger square was filled up last night at this most extraordinary event even though it began with some nasty weather. The film was projected on a giant screen and Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of the Pet Shop Boys, accompanied by the 26-strong Dresdner Sinfoniker string orchestra, played live on stage.
