The day got off to a hecktic start when it was decided to move the stage five minutes before the event was meant to begin. Needless to say, it took a little longer than five minutes to reassemble the stage and so Rhythms of Resistance kicks off the event a little latter than planned. The drums tested the venues sound proofing and the whole building shook to the bass. At that stage it was probably fair to say that half the people there were the band, and many of the 'audience' were the ECF and RampART volunteers. The numbers remained low for much of the afternoon so the self organised workshops never really reach their potential until towards evening when the numbers started to pick up massively. By the time the evening bands were setting up and doing their sound checks, there were about 400 people in the venue and it was getting really hot. There was loads of lovely food throughout the day and nice organic beer (which ran out in the evening and was replaced by nasty Stella and the like).
Anyway, the event seemed to go well and I am sure that some people learnt and did new stuff. Some new collaborations have been initiated and no doubt there will be good stuff happening as a result.
