ASSEMBLE 10am. AT WICKFORD RAILWAY STATION, ESSEX
SAY NO TO FASCISM! SAY NO TO THE BNP!
No to a Nazi race hate festival in Essex!!!

The BNP are hoping to hold a parade in Wickford, South Essex, on Sat 24th April. They plan this parade to then go on to a fascist ‘family fun day’ at a private angler’s clubhouse and carp lake at Crowsheath, Downham, at the foot of the Hanningford Reservoir, between Basildon and Chelmsford.

The BNP have one councillor in the South Essex area, but their activity has a more sinister side than the ballot box. While the BNP now try to put on a respectable, ‘family image’, at their core still lays the same network of Hitler worshipping Nazi thugs from the days of John Tyndall.

The area in which they are holding this ‘fun day’ has a network of fascists in it with a nasty record, and are despised by the majority of decent local people. This was the area between Chelmsford and Basildon where the Nazi terror group Combat 18 chose to retreat to in the mid 1990’s, crazily dreaming of making it their “Aryan Homeland”!!! This was the area in which the local fascists responded to September 11th by throwing two petrol bombs at Muslim owned restaurant in Wickford, and by throwing bricks through the windows and daubing fascist graffiti on the walls of a local Mosque.

All this is part of the BNP’s fascistic dreams of precipitating a ‘race war’ and ‘ethnic cleansing’ in the UK, and is the unpalatable reality that lies beneath their current fad for smart suits and smooth rhetoric. All sorts of white power freaks and neo-Nazi psycho’s are travelling to this part of Essex. North American and European based Nazi websites are full of discussions about this supposed local community ‘St Georges Day Celebration’ and whether it has easy access from the airports! It is also rumoured that French Fascist leader Le Penn will be attempting to visit Britain that same weekend, but the location of his presence is not yet known.

At this Essex event, BNP speakers will promote their fascist and white supremacist ideology, while supporters will also be encouraged to practice sports such as archery and paintball armed combat! Oooo, plus bouncy castles, face painting, a disco and the sale of fascist literature and regalia. They also plan to mix heavy use of alcohol with messing about with fireworks. However, the local community and council are putting more and more pressure against this event so that there is a good chance it will be cancelled before the weekend.

Local people are planning a peaceful protest against this sick Nazi ideology polluting their community. But they need the help of every opponent of fascism and racism, every decent person in the area! Come and make a stand for peace, justice, harmony and equality! Come and make your stand against the BNP and their racist and fascist poison! Help disrupt the fascist fun day!

ASSEMBLE AT WICKFORD RAILWAY STATION. 10am.
SAY NO TO FASCISM! SAY NO TO THE BNP!

This is a trap don't fall for it!

This is a trap by the sepcial branch to lure militant anti-fascists into a confrontation with the BNP specifically for the purpose of arresting them for affray and other public order offeneces. We will confront the fascists on our terms and when the situation is in our favour.

anti-fascist

This is NOT a trap! What Bollox!

20.04.2004 17:34

No, this is a genuine anti-fascist protest called by local groups in Basildon, Southend and elsewhere in Essex, and supported by Unite Against Fascism. I don't know what motivates the above comment, and I won't speculate!!!
The publicised demo will be a peacefull, community event. Please come and do not be put off!

Essex Anti-Fascists

Come on the protest!!!

20.04.2004 17:53

Listen. Lots of people I know have spent weeks trying to find out about this BNP event and then mobilise a protest against it.
They are not 'special branch'!!! (or even 'sepcial branch' [sic] as the semi-literate paranoid idiot/dis-informer commenting above spells it!)
So far, groups are coming from all around Essex. However, people from London are needed as well. Hence the posts on Indymedia. So please come. This is a community protest that needs your help!

Re-sista!

It is still not a good idea

Well I for one will not be going because I don't want to get trapped behind police lines and photographed, questioned and possibly detained for hours by the forward intellegence team. As anti-fasicsts we should only confront the far right when we have the upper hand and in places where we can mobilise the numbers. Waterloo Station in August 1992 was a good example of confronting the fascists on our own territry, on our own terms and beating them!

Oh, gutted

Oh well, I guess the protesters will just have to struggle on without your fair-weather help, "antifascist".

Good to see someone as committed as yourself though. Nobody should ever take part in things unless they uttterly outnumber the enemy and are assured of winning.

Are you a US general by any chance?
