Dont forget Russia !!
17.04.2004 14:58
Whilst all the attention is/has been focussed on the Canadian seal hunt, there is also
the matter of the Russian seal cull (9 day old seals), on the White Sea in Russia
which is also currently underway.
European Animal Welfare has been highlighting this for the last 12 or more years and is
now beginning to bear fruit.
With the assistance of Euro Labour MEP,Mark Watts a petition is to be presented to the
Russian Ambassador to the UK on or arounnd the 24/25 May of this year to help get this
appalling event and trade stopped.
In the meantime,I hope those involved in campaigning against the Canadian cull will also
highlight the plight of seals in Russia too.

Norway attracts baby-seals killers as a sick distraction
20.04.2004 16:38
Sick plans by Norwegian governemt.
There is a proposition in Norway to start -special crime-holidays-money spinner- for aristocracy and rich people who had dreamed to kill [whoever] and now they want to kill baby seals to live their criminal passions.
The norvegians have proposed to make money by starting a tour operator to attract rich and sick people to "enjoy" a weekend of madness and to participate in the barbaric hunt.
There is a heated debate in Norway both for and against the proposal.

IAWF most hypocrite about this killing
27.04.2004 13:53
IFAW most hypocrite about this killing.
IFAW are only making a killing for themselves! indeed
Do you know well the I.Fund A.W. position about this annual making of big money on the back of baby-seals?
I used to support them but after finding they are only interested in raising millions for themselves, I stop sending them my money and promptly cancelled my subscription and signed up to support for small sincere groups instead.
I urge all supporters of IFAW to email their managers [actually travelling around the world with the naive donators'economies] about their stance and request that they stop spending all on Hotels & Travels for their pleasure! else you should consider withdrawing your subscription.
IAWF means I'm Far AWay. Travelling and enjoying life at the expenses of animal lovers.
Peter Martin of Canada. Yes I do desaprove the slauthering of new-born seals pups.

Monday 24 May we'll be supporting Mark Watts MEP & EAW
27.04.2004 14:13
We will go to Kensington on Monday 24 May early afternoon. This is because the baby-seals are being atrocely killed by the millions [1 million in Canada alone in the next 3 years] and without any good reasons. Making a profit off the killing is certainly not a good reason nowadays.
We are pleased to hear that European Animal Welfare has been highlighting this for the last 12 years and it is now beginning to bear fruit, and also that with the assistance of Euro Labour MEP, Mark Watts, a petition will be presented to the Russian Ambassador in the UK on the 24 May early afternoon to help get this appalling trade stopped.
In the meantime, we hope those involved in campaigning against the Canadian baby-seals cull and the sick Norwegian proposals will also highlight the plight of baby-seals in Russia too.

Boycott the killers from Russia with no love, cold Canada, sick Norway
27.04.2004 14:26
Boycott them all equally: the killers from Russia with no love, the killers from cold Canada, the killers'complices from sick Norway ...
None of them will see me buying their products.
Not only will I boycott them all, but my friends and acquaintances will do the same. We have already send a number of e-mails around on that purpose.
Please, think carefully, if you beleive these baby-seals killers are wrong [as I do] then would not be a good idea to send an e-mail to your best e-contacts, and told them to pass it on.
The message is very simple, and therefore efficient:
BOYCOTT ALL PRODUCTS FROM RUSSIA, CANADA, NORWAY, untill their Governments pass a sensible law prohibiting the killing of baby-seals on their territories.

Russian baby seal killers!
27.08.2005 08:58
I would like to know what the issues discussed at the G8 summit, Scotland 2005, abpout the killing of the baby seals. I feel VERY strongly and deeply about the deaths and the ways that the babies are killed. I find it barbaric that in this day and age the Russians can not provide a more suitable life style for the 'Russian baby seal killers' to enable them to earn a living. I understand that tourism would be a possibility, with the people wishing to watch the 'living' baby seals. The way in which baby seals were killed was awful, but NOW their deaths are prolonged by being gathered in nets and being taken by helicopter to their slaughter areas. It is too hard to imagine the fear and agony they must be in prior to their DEATHS!
I have not found any issues that were raised at the G8 summit, Scotland 2005 on this matter. I sincerely and desperately hope the matter was made an issue. Please let me know asap with all the details that were or were not discussed.
Thank-you very much.
Yours sincerely,
Sara Clark
