Summer of Dissent is a studio and street program discussing the M20 war
protests and the plans for the Republican National Convention to be held in
NYC. Hosted by WBAI¹s Deepa Fernandes, guests include United for Peace and
Justice¹s Leslie Cagan, Center for Constitutional Rights¹ Jeff Fogel and a
number of young energetic organizers working in diverse communities. The
program begins with a synopsis of resistance to the war and transitions into
the national organizing now going on in preparation for the RNC this August,
a useful program for concerned people throughout the U.S.
The program includes a range of voices and images from around the world of
the people who marched and spoke out on March 20th. Using the internet and
FTP, we were able to include international segments produced for this
program from community video producers from Rome, Paris, London, Basque
Country, Mexico and NYC.
