Womble On Dudes!

Unfettered | 26.03.2004 16:52 | Social Struggles | London

The occupied Grand Banks is an example in self-determination, sufficiency and community spirit and how to defy and take back power from the government, who only ever abuses it.

Government is the problem, it can never be part of the solution.

The occupied Social Centre in Tufnell Park (The Grand Banks) is an excellent meeting place for anarchists and dissidents alike, to relax and exchange ideas. Educational talks and film shows enlighten and inform and give an alternative view of world affairs than what is offered by the lying (military) media machine, which is why "they" don't want kids visiting, because as any parent knows, Hitler is the only subject presently permitted in the school curriculum.

It was providing the local secondary school children, who have nowhere else to congregate other than the street, where they are subjected to random stop and search by over-zealous police (who perceive all youths as potential criminals) with a safe environment to socialize; until PC Burns banned them. They also had the option of eating a healthy lunch, for a voluntary donation, as opposed to the GM corporate garbage served up in school canteens, labelled “food.”

Oppose the ban...and thanx for the coffee!

Just to emphasise my point

26.03.2004 21:15

My sixteen year-old son who is mixed race, was walking along Fortess Road tonight with his four friends, all black, making their way to a youth club in Camden Town, because there is none in Tufnell Park, when they stopped to admire a shiny new BMW...

BIG MISTAKE!

For this flagrant violation of social order, a police van containing four officers and two WPC’s screeched to a halt and proceeded to harass, question and body search these five lads. They found NOTHING, no weapons or drugs, only mobile phones, which they assumed must be stolen.

The police told me, “they were only doing their job” – So I suggested they get another one, which serves the community and doesn’t involve intimidating, bullying and humiliating innocent black school children.

STOP AND WATCH CAMPAIGN

28.03.2004 13:58

Activists should compile a list of venues used by the police, one venue used by the filth is the Hen and Chickens pub outside Highbury and Islington underground station, anyone wanting to identify individual officers connected to harassing young Black people or others should pop along to this venue with a camera especially on Saturdays to see how officers become drunken yobs themselves.
On 27/03/04 there was a disturbance inside this pub and when uniformed officers arrived several of those inside produced warrant cards and the only ones arrested were those without them which was around two, one women who had her behind squeezed by a member of the Queens own thug machine and her partner who got into a verbal confrontation with the off duty officer concerned.
Seems the police haven't learned their lesson after the secret policeman was shown on our TV,s, they still stop innocent black and asian people, still do stop and search and find nothing then they use the above venue to joke about their week.
Let's make their evenings out a little less enjoyable by compiling lists of venues used by the Met.

On Board with you

Undercover Cops at Foundry (OLD ST) Last Night

28.03.2004 14:51

There were a few of the met's finest both inside and outside the Foundry last night, obviously keeping tabs on those known to them leading up to MayDay in Dublin and London.

These officers were plain clothed (One being stockily built outside watching revellers leaving this establishment)

Another two inside listening in on other peoples conversations.

In light of this people should not talk openly on whats happening on Mayday as walls have ears.

Be on your guard.
