An exhibition of the artists work Abajo - Izquierdo, started on March 5th at ISH, and on Wednesday he is staging a 'live' art display called 'Pan Tone 232', on stage in the theatre with painted nudes.
Organiser, Alex Menace said, "'Pan Tone 232' requires numerous people to be naked and painted white, the work is similar to Spencer Tunick's, but the performers are much more involved and there is more of a party / celebration atmosphere to the event with a flamenco band, DJ and a tattooist."
There will be music, audience participation (clothed) will be encouraged and a bar available - at student prices.
The stage will be lit but with muted lighting in the auditorium - capacity 600. It would be great to get as many live art naked 'canvasses' as possible - perhaps 30, 40, 50... or more. It will be a fairly casual affair and unlike the Saatchi gallery Tunick event, no invited celebrities - unless any are receiving this and turn up. There may be
media present, but of course anyone not wishing to appear naked in photos, would have the option not to be photographed.
The 'artworks' will be painted on stage - individually - and you have the option of whole body, or just 'parts' - feet, for example - as you chose. Lighting effects and projection equipment will add to the atmosphere and with the music, the whole thing will take on a
'celebration' of the human form.
Those taking part are asked to disrobe in the theatre, and stay in there rather than wander about the building (as it is shared with other users). But you are welcome to stay naked the whole time from your arrival until you choose to go.
Further information is available from the organiser, Alex Menace. She can be reached at the International Students House on 0207 631 8305 or by email am@ish.org.uk There is no need to register, but if you would like to email, just to give Alex an idea of numbers expecting to support this event, please feel free to do so.
For those wanting to arrive early, a bar (clothed!), will be open from
about 6:30pm.
