The UNHCR is supposed to look after refguees welfare, but it has always been subject to it's members often illogical and racist policy on refugees. Today there was a demo by oraganised by the Global Womens Strike, outside the UNHCR building in Millbank, Central London.

A mock shanty town populated by members of the Global Womens Strike and refugees from London, made ther point in an innovative way.

Only shorly after the Afghanistan War had 'finished' the UNHCR were decalring Afghanistan a safe country for refugees to return. A look at the news will tell you its anything but safe, with Afghani civillians, as well as UN Troops and Staff being killed daily.
