Today, as part of the european-wide asylum rights series of 42 demonstrations, congolese, rythums of ristence made a big noise outside parliament.

Around 60-70 people from groups including the Congolese Society and Rhythms of resistance and SOS Discrimination/Immigration made a big noise outside an apparently deaf parliament. Whilst the turnout was moderate, it marked the beginning (in London) of a european wide 2 days of action.

Some people had travelled from as far as Derbyshire, and there was a large number of refugees present, especially from the Congo. Refugees our continuing to be sent back to unsafe countries like Afghanistan, and the Congo, where there are currently four african countries are at war over the natural resources of Congo.

There was a demand by SOS Discrimination/Immigration for a total amnesty, not just for refugees and asylum seekers, but all those 'san papiers'.
