BP getting more into food (destroying small local shops) rather than renewables?
BP Connect is part of BP's new greenwash effort combined with an inroad into the big supermarket and lifestyle market.
On the local rag, there was a huge 'advertising wraparound' featuring BP Connect supermarket/cafe, with a big pile of 'lifestyle' shit:
EG. A recipe for hassle-free shopping...on your doorstep...Is this you? 1.You're in a hurry and don't have anything for dinner 2. You've got few pals coming over - but you haven't got any beers or wine in the fridge. 3. It's Sunday morning, and you fancy a cappucino...but nothing's open! ........ETC
Plus ads for their Wild Bean Cafe (note how the idea of 'wild' and indigenous is coopted over and over eg. SUV's called Amazon, Cherokee etc) and the back page as an ad for BP's Ultimate (con).
More and more supermarkets now have petrol stations, and more and more petrol stations have supermarkets. Food is the one thing people can't do without (apart from water which is being thoroughly privatised), and, as everyone knows, corporations are getting their hands on every stage of its 'production' and sale, forcing out small farms, small shops etc. Trust BP to get in there too. The tentacles entwine...
