An international boycott of all Coca Cola products was called in July this year by Colombian Trade Unions and the World Social Forum. Over recent years eight trade union leaders working at Coca Cola bottling plants in Colombia have been assassinated by paramilitary death squads, allegedly working under orders from the plant managers. Yet despite a US court agreeing that they have a case to answer, Coca Cola’s subsidiaries still refuse to cooperate and protect the lives of workers in Colombia.
Come and discuss how we can ensure that Coca Cola listens, how boycotts can work and how people all over the world are resisting the ‘multinational empire’.
