respect of security arrangements on Wednesday 19th November 2003.
Due to the visit of President Bush on the 19th November, there will be a major security operation around Grosvenor Square. This will involve
closing off Grosvenor Square to both vehicles and pedestrians from 7am.
Parking bays will be suspended at this time and any parked vehicles
repositioned outside the area.
Residents and people working in Grosvenor Square will have foot access
via control points at Upper Brook Street junction with Park Street, or Park Street junction with Reeves Mews. We will facilitate access as quickly as possible but do ask for your patience and understanding. Access would be expedited if identification is produced at the time although this is not compulsory.
Residents needing to drive in or out of the security zone should speak
to the officers at the Upper Brook Street checkpoint. We will do our best to assist you depending upon the time and stage of the visit. All vehicles coming into the security zone will be searched.
These measures are necessary to ensure a safe environment for everyone
affected by the visit. I assure you that they will be withdrawn as soon as possible following the conclusion of the event and thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
If you have any issues or concerns you wish to discuss, call the Mayfair Community Office on 0207 321 8706 or contact PC Keith Leahy, who is the local security community officer, on 07880 747 842.
