Apparently that ended up a roaring success... for Maddie, as the majority of punters who attended the lecture then cued up to buy here book, have it personally signed and then wander off into the night feeling fullfilled at having been in the presence of "stardom" and telling everyone on the way, "look she even signed my book"!!
It didn't go all Maddie's way by any means(apart from leaving thousands of pounds richer!). Eggs rained down on the poor old lady as she was escorted from the Lecture Theatre to the bookstore. There was a long and constantly noisy protest and mega-phone ranting (Excellent stuff Jake!)courtesy of the newly formed Norwich Anarchist Student Society who should be given thumbs up for their part in the protest. Due to their actions a large section of those waiting to buy Albrights book saw the reality of their thinking and went home. I think protestors asking them whether they would be doing the same thing in five years when Bush and Co. come to sell books did the trick.
Throughout the protest it was obvious that Albright was not used to these scenes, as in America protestors just can't get in their faces and tell them precisley what they think of them, without getting the Feds threatening to have them killed. Albright left in no-doubt of the strength of feeling that a large amount of Britain have when it comes to the American war-machine, be it dominated by Democrats or Republicans.
All in all an excellent action with only one arrest..an anarchist egg thrower for criminal damage (an egg ) to a coat!?! Well done that man!
Over to you folks next in London... :)
