the samba posse on Saturday was about one third Sheffield, together with Rhythms of Resistance plus individuals from many places.
We certainly enjoyed the sound - glad you did too!

Also no Iraqi exiles living in Britain marched with you. Many of the Iraqi exiles in Britain have suffered torture at the hands of Saddam's thugs or been forced from their homes. You lot keep ranting about Israel forceing the Palestinians from their homes over 55 years ago but what about the oppressed in Iraq? You never demonstrated in support of them, yet far more people were forced from their homes, tortured and killed under Saddam's 21 years of rule than ever were oppressed by Israel?
By the way during World War II the left in Britain were totally behind the war on Hitler because they knew he was such a monster that he had to be stopped. What is the difference between Saddam and Hilter they were both brutal tyrants and mass murders? I can't understand why the left who prize freedom, democracy and human rights were against the war to oust Saddam!

Of course, all this is a moot point. How many of these mighty protestors of war, the hippies that bring peace, love, and drug use to the world, have ever once actually stood up and done anything for what they believe in. Anyone can walk in a protest. How many of you have bleed for it. How many of you have stood and put your life on the line. How many of you have died for it. You know nothing of war, and you know nothing of freedom, and even more so you know nothing of Iraq. If you would like to contest that statement, then tell me, exactly what the first words out of an Iraqi childs mouth was, when he was pulled out of a cell no larger then a closet, where he had been for the last year after his parents were murdered, because of their religious beliefs. If you don't know, then obviously you don't know the face of this war. I suppose none of you could tell me about any hangers that were full of bodies either, But I wouldn't really expect to hear that from these kind of people. I don't think anyone cares about, Arabs, or Iraqi's that were there, I think the point is, how many of them had their families murdered, or imprisoned by saddam, how many of them were there?
