Don't let these people have the final say

Antony | 27.09.2003 21:21 | Anti-militarism | London | World

The BBC Website has a number of very negative posts re: the AntiWar demo. An opportunity me thinks for some posts from indymedia readers in order redress the balance.

BBC: Do you think the protests make a difference? Are you involved in the march? Tell us your views and experiences.

The vast majority supported the war!

The majority of the comments on the BBC website supportted the war. It is obvious to see why aswell. Saddam Hussein's regime was one of the most brutal and murderous in the world and so had to be overthrown to liberate the people of Iraq. One comment also highlighted that in a recent poll in Iraq the majority of Iraqis were pleased that the war took place aswell and want the coalition forces to stay and rebuild their country.

By the way no Iraqi Kurds or Marsh Arabs marched on your demo, because they have suffered terribly under Saddam's regime and so were glad the war took place to liberate them. Your agruments about imperialism don't stand up when America and Britain overthrew a murderous, corrupt and despoitc regime that had no respect for humanlife. Most people are glad that regime is gone and are glad that America and Britain are staying in Iraq to help the Iraqi people rebuild their country.

SOMEBODY GET THIS PERSON HELP

i do read Rockwell's comments as i take all arguments into account. However, with every article he posts, i get more worried about him. Somebody should post an article about how saddam was a evil dictator, im sure Rockwell would disagree. Get a life mate, you clearly need one.

Quote: "America and Britain overthrew a murderous, corrupt and despoitc regime that had no respect for humanlife which they created, armed and supported for decades."

Wrong America did not support Saddam at all until 1980 when it was forced to back Iraq over Iran during the Iran, Iraq war to prevent the spread of Islamic extremism by the Ayatollah even then Saddam was never a proper ally of America he was the enemy of America's enemy.

The CIA organised the Baath party coup in 1963 yes, but Saddam gained power in Iraq through his own efforts and all through the seventies he was strongly anti-western and hostile towards America.
