Two girls shut down the Docklands Light Railway for over an hour. They climbed on top of the train at Canning Town Station at 2:45, a friend hits the alarm bell, and police are only able to remove them from the train at 3:45. The station remained closed for some time after.
Police confirmed that as soon as a protestor is on the train, the electricity has to be shut down for the entire line.
Various train disruptions had shut down the DLR for most of the day, forcing arms dealers to catch buses, taxis, and even walk to the exhibition.

It makes me want to cry to hear so many people saying what amounts to "I don't care how many people are killed and tortured, I just want to get to work" But then I guess this shouldn't surprise me any more!

If you want to protest against the arms sale then go and do it there, outside their building - why disrupt the everyday lives of everyone else?
On the subject of arms dealing, I'm much happier to see it happening out in the open, in London, rather than being outlawed and pushed into the underworld. Weapons will continue to be bought and sold whether or not a bunch of people climb on top of trains in Canning Town DLR station!
