Despite a heavy police presence, more than a thousand demonstrators including groups from the Campaign Against the Arms Trade, Globalise Resistance, the Green Party and Reclaim the Streets, took part in protests at the DSEi arms fair in London on 9th September.
These groups claim that the fair attracts buyers from countries with poor human rights records, and have labelled the arms companies participating as "merchants of
death". The fair continues until the end of the week.
