The Birmingham Mob has done the right thing, disbanding after one event. They put at least some good cause in the mix by mobbing an Oxfam store with scores and scores of clothing donations. Their website is now frozen and they are opening up their mailing list to allow their mobbers to talk to each other and take control - nice.

A recent Bristol mob went ahead but with quite a presence by the boyz in blue - mounted police and at least six riot vans accompanied the crazy conga dance.

Another new one from the uk - Flashmugging! - does what it says on the lid - quote: "Wherever there’s groups of young, naive, wealthy, bored, fashionistas to be found, scum of a different sort are bound to be close behind. FLASHMUGGERS!!!"

(We spoke to a flashmugger (Dave) and he told us "It’s simple, just turn up at the arranged meeting point, and hand out a load of fake instructions, these suckers are so hyped-up on their own coolness, that they’d believe anything. The key is to make the instructions totally gay".)
The Reading Festival is this weekend bracing itself for what could be the biggest uk mob so far, no doubt hoping the instructions do not say 1) hide face with copy of NME, 2) storm main gates.

Several mob groups have had their yahoo pages and mailing lists removed by Yahoo - no info yet as to the reasons.
There are rumours that the biggest ever flasmob will be held somewhere in the uk in September.
